Session: Test Driving Apache Tomcat 11

Apache Tomcat 11 is currently in alpha, and the first stable release is less than a year away. Virtual thread support and concurrency provided by Project Loom (JEP-444) are the most important features in Apache Tomcat 11.

Uncover the changes in this release of Tomcat and how it compares to previous releases including the JDK 21+ requirement and the implementation of the Jakarta 11 EE spec. This discussion will compare the performance of virtual threads with Apache Tomcat’s standard thread pool. Discover how the Apache Tomcat community will address stability giving a greater degree of confidence in future releases. The roadmap of future releases such as the integration with Project Panama will be discussed.

Even if you are new to Apache Tomcat, this session will help you plan on a migration strategy making adoption an easier and worthwhile process. Join us as we take a closer look at the new features and enhancements to the most dominant application server in open source.
