Session: Quantum Machine Learning: Cutting Through the Buzzword BS
Quantum Computing and Machine Learning – you may be familiar with these terms individually, and when brought together they form the ultimate combination of technology buzz words. But what do we mean when we say “Quantum Machine Learning” (QML)? Is this a real concept or just another attempt to stick AI onto any random tech product to make it more sellable? And how does Open Source fit into this? In this talk we’ll get technical, discussing the various ways that machine learning can be used to augment quantum computing research, and vice versa. We’ll talk critically about the viability of QML, progress made thus far in the field, promising new research and the biggest hurdles yet to be overcome. We’ll also explore how experienced ML developers and researchers can get involved in QML open-source with packages such as Qiskit Machine Learning.
