Session: Open Source Java Frameworks: Modern Observability Practices
Constructing web applications requires decisions on functionality, complexity, and purpose. Having made the decision to base your application on open source, you still have many possibilities and ample choices for framework. Once functionality is coded and your deployment is heading to production operations, you still want to know whether performance meets business goals.
This talk takes a top-down look at web application stacks using open-source Java and JVM components as the case study. Observability into framework performance unlocks transparency, ensuring early decisions hold up to user load, no matter the deployment destination. Modern approaches using Open Telemetry and other JVM-level insights provide the whole stack view.
In this session we will use Cisco AppDynamics to illustrate app and JVM pinch-points.
