Session: Is Your Project a Good Fit for Monetization?
Amid all the talk about open source monetization strategy, a crucial point is often lost: Not all projects are equally suitable for monetization. In this talk, Emily Omier will give maintainers of open source projects a useful framework for deciding whether or not the project is a good fit for monetization, as well as a series of questions to ask themselves about whether or not they are the right person to monetize the project. Attendees will leave with a way to evaluate their current project for commercial possibilities, and hopefully make less mistakes in judging how financially successful a project could be.
