Deep Dive AI At All Things Open

We’re thrilled to announce the Open Source Initiative (OSI) has partnered with All Things Open to host a full day of AI-focused programming on Tuesday, October 17.

The dedicated track of programming “State of the Source” will include 5 sessions to cover: Open Source licenses, policy, security and a double session to draft a definition for “Open Source AI”. The event will serve as the final discussion day for OSI’s Deep Dive AI Webinar Series that is taking place September 26 through October 12.

This programing is proudly sponsored by Open Source Initiative.

WHAT

Currently one of the most popular and trending topics in tech and open source is AI and as a result the Open Source Initiative (OSI) is driving a multi-stakeholder process to define an “Open Source AI.” Open Source Initiative (OSI) will host a dedicated track of programming at All Things Open 2023 to discuss the topic.

WHAT IS DEEP DIVE AI (from the OSI website)?

The Open Source Initiative (OSI) continues the work of exploring complexities surrounding the development and use of artificial intelligence in Deep Dive: AI – Defining Open Source AI, with the goal of collaboratively establishing a clear and defensible definition of “Open Source AI.” OSI is bringing together global experts to establish a shared set of principles that can recreate a permissionless, pragmatic and simplified collaboration for AI practitioners, similar to what the Open Source Definition has done.

A draft of the Open Source AI Definition will be available for public discussion at All Things Open, on Tuesday, October 17. See the schedule below and register today to participate.
